Isaac, Frisbee and I were out on our usual early morning walk on Saturday morning when hot air balloons began passing over our heads. A couple floated by far away, sporadically, but soon they came more frequently, lower and louder, filling the sky. Frisbee has a phobia of hot air balloons, so as Isaac was just starting to realize they were there, Frisbee began panting and panicking and dragging us home.
We got out our chairs, put them on the front lawn and enjoyed the show. The Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival seems to take place every Labour Day weekend. This year, it's from September 2nd to 5th. You can see the balloons passing by at around 6:30 to 7:30 in the morning then 5:30 to 6:30 in the evening.
