|Miss Greenish Thumb's Rhubarb Plant (spring 2012)|
If you grow rhubarb, you know that it produces more and more loveliness, year after year...
It's also similar to prunes and blueberries - helps you go.
The leaves are poisonous - don't eat them. But you can compost them - it doesn't poison your compost.
He also makes great stewed rhubarb. Here's what to do:
- Put six cups of rhubarb pieces in a pot. Add 2 Tbsp of water.
- Stew it on low heat until it turns liquidy and runny (like the photo above).
- Add about 1/2 cup to 1 cup of sugar until dissolved (you can experiment with more or less sugar - to your taste).
- I like it best served over ice cream!
