Baking Cinnamon Buns Outdoors

Dan invited us to his camp.
(For all you Southies, a camp is what they call cottages up here in Thunder Bay country.)

And after an awesome bbq supper, he cooked us up some cinnamon buns, outdoor-style.
He had a cast-iron dutch oven with three little legs and a handle, designed for outdoor cooking.
He heated coals in a what looked like a tin can with a handle then used tongs to place some of the hot coals on a flat rock out back of the camp.  He put the dutch oven ontop of the coals and then put the rest of the hot coals ontop of the dutch oven.

He'd lined the inside of the dutch oven with some tin foil on which he'd placed some Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, which he'd tossed in cinnamon and sugar. I think he also poured some melted butter ontop of them at some point.

The result was heavenly.

Thanks Dan!
